Privacy notice

Last updated: September 1, 2026

This notice describes information used by the Ready by May public beta, student accounts, practice system, and Commons.

Account information

If you create an account, we process your email address, authentication information handled by our cloud provider, display name, optional study bio, avatar choice, target subjects, and target score. Your display name, avatar, study bio, and any public role badge are visible when you contribute to the Commons. Your email, target score, access level, and account entitlements are not part of that public profile.

Practice data

Answers, timing, active-test progress, reports, settings, highlights, and notes may first be stored in your browser. When you sign in, completed reports and active-test progress can sync to your account. Browser data can still be lost if it is cleared before synchronization succeeds.

Commons content and safety

We process posts, replies, reactions, bookmarks, and private reports needed to operate the community. Submitted text passes through deterministic safety rules and may be sent to an automated moderation service before publication. Held content, moderation decisions, and limited category scores are available only to authorized moderators. The Commons does not provide private messaging.

Membership and payments

The checkout identifies our authorized payment provider and Merchant of Record, such as Paddle or Dodo Payments when enabled. That provider processes payment information. Ready by May receives transaction identifiers, purchase status, selected subject, customer identifiers, totals, currency, and the account identifier needed to provide access. Ready by May does not receive your full card number.

Analytics and advertising

No third-party behavioral advertising tracker is enabled in this release. Active tests do not contain advertisements. If privacy-respecting product analytics are added later, this notice will be updated before use.

Retention and choices

We retain account, practice, and community data while needed to provide the service, protect the community, meet legal obligations, and resolve abuse. You may remove local records in the app, unsubscribe from marketing by replying to a launch email, or request account deletion through the support contact. Safety and transaction records may be retained where reasonably necessary.

A public support email must be configured before public account activation.

Independent status

Ready by May is an independent educational project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by College Board.
